Etymology of Persian/Hindi/Sanskrit words, Dham/Tam (to breath)

It is claimed by Some lexicographers and linguists that the word Tam ( breath) in Tamil is a Persian word, without studying the etymology of Tamil and Persian words. That Tamil word is a native word and not derived from Persian or even Sanskrit. It is absolutely a Tamil word. The word is derived from the word Tummu which means to emit, let go, leave the air from the mouth and nose. This Idea is in consonance with the English dictionary meaning of Meaning of sneeze, "To expel air forcibly from the mouth and nose in an explosive, spasmodic involuntary action resulting chiefly from irritation of the nasal mucous membrane." The general function of sneezing is to expel foreign particles or irritants and cleanse the nasal cavity, particularly during viral infections. During a sneeze, the soft palate and uvula depress while the back of the tongue elevates to partially close the passage to the mouth so that air ejected from the lungs may be expelled through the nose.
